Redefine “Training” and Lower the Pressure

Let’s bust the myth: If you’re not drenched in sweat or maxing out your squat, it doesn’t count.

Not true. A workout is:

  • Walking the dog around the block in Kahului
  • Doing air squats while watching the news
  • Stretching before bed
  • A few push-ups between emails

All movement counts. Especially when done with intention and consistency.


Low-Pressure Workout Ideas (That Still Work)

Feeling stuck or tired? Try these easy ways to get moving—no gym required.

1. 12-Minute EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute)

  • Minute 1: Air squats
  • Minute 2: Push-ups
  • Minute 3: Lunges
  • Minute 4: Plank (just 20 seconds!)

Repeat this circuit 3x. That’s 12 minutes of full-body work—done right at home in Wailuku or wherever you are.

2. TV Movement Grid

Draw 9 boxes on a piece of paper. Every time a scene changes or a commercial comes on, do one round of an exercise: squats, crunches, sit-ups—your choice. Write down your reps in the boxes. You’ll rack up a workout without even noticing.

3. Train With Someone

Ask your partner, keiki, or roommate to move with you. It doesn’t need to be perfect—just intentional movement with someone you love. Don’t live together? FaceTime and move together from afar.
